THEME

DESIGNING A LEARNER CENTRIC SCHOOL
NOVEMBER

Ofcourse the sole purpose of
making a school is the child.

child reading a book

that child could be eagerly raising hand to answer the teacher, playing in the field, reading a book in the library, performing an experiment in the lab, writing a code in the lab.

child head down

that child could be quietly sitting on the last desk of the classroom, copying from her friend's notebook, planning a prank, slumping to avoid teacher's attention, looking outside the window or have made an excuse and have not come to school today.

Look at the diversity with which school has to deal with and that is why the school has an elaborate machinery with many moving parts. The purpose is that each of them work in synergy, inform each other, help each other so that each child gets the attention they deserve.

The questions we should ask now are:

  • Are these functions working together or working in silos?
  • Are they together weaving a net which won’t allow a child to slip through the cracks?
  • How can we make them more efficient and learner centric?
